The Deepest Gentleness

“Nothing is stronger than gentleness.”

The deepest gentleness you will ever experience is your own Spirit.

When this gentleness comes to visit you, honor it simply by being with it. You cannot do anything to make it come to you. You cannot get it to come to you by becoming something other than who you truly are, because it is You. When we forget who we are, our own Spirit, this gentleness seems very far away indeed. But in the times when it feels as if a sort of Grace has descended upon us, even in all of our turmoil, we begin to remember again “Oh yes, this is me.”
Here I offer you a simple key to remembering the deepest gentleness, your own beautiful Spirit, when your life becomes a bit crazy, seemingly luring you away from yourSelf.

First, Stop. Let everything go for just this moment.
Second, open your awareness, your heart’s eyes to what is in front of you. Don’t think, just open.

Nature is a most precious and powerful tool for this. My favorite way of reconnecting back to my own deepest gentleness is to watch the subtle movement of trees, leaves, grass or flowers being ever so gently blown by a soft wind, the more subtle the better. In fact if you can watch the wind or breeze moving a tree’s branches, follow it to the most subtlest of movements until you rest in the complete pure stillness of the tree itself or the softest late-day light that rests upon it.
A tree, flower, small creek, still mountain, soft breeze or quiet morning light all become instant mirrors of this deep gentleness that is your spirit. Here you can easily immerse yourself in your own precious, clear presence. Then in those times when you forget, you will know how to simply stop and open to your own deepest gentleness.

Deep Peace,
Elaine
