I’ve been hearing more and more this year from people who are really on a different path when it comes to relationships or partnerships. Not only in how to “meet that special someone”, but in who that someone might be and what they truly want from all of their relationships really. In the true sense of the word, relationship is simply relating to another, whether it is a single person, a community or nation.
As more and more people are now on a more spiritually-based path, it is a given that they will learn more loving ways to relate to others. And of course this brings all relationships up to be seen and attended to where needed. I personally think of a “spiritual path” as the maturing of the human soul, and by “spiritual” I mean natural. The maturing of the human soul is natural evolution and is inevitable.
This year brings much Light onto how we relate to one another and closer to home, to ourselves. As such, this year and beyond, is a huge opportunity for healing our relationships with ourselves and others, so that we may learn to co-exist in more loving, healthy ways. Every soul yearns for this, and sometimes we are almost painfully aware of this deep yearning to share Home with another Being in true partnership. I believe there will always be a deep desire to share this magnificent journey of Being Love and Light. It is how God expresses and experiences Itself best.
As my wish is to bring more Light to our journey, the first question to ask ourselves is “Why do I want to be in or have a relationship?” This will flush out all underlying motives that may not result in the answer simply being “to share Love.” This is a good way to clear any old foundations learned around relationships that may not be serving us well. This is what the newly evolving partnerships are teaching us.
A few days ago a friend brought up two interesting questions about relationships that I thought would be very helpful to share with you. She said someone was talking to her about relationships and said there are two things to consider when thinking about what kind of relationship you want. The questions are:
1. What do you want from the relationship?
2. What are you willing to bring to the relationship?
The minute she asked the second question, my own answer popped into my head and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised by it, not only because it was so obvious, but because it is the very thing I have been working on in my relationship with myself. (I know. No-brainer, eh?) The answer I immediately got was the list of what A Course in Miracles calls the characteristics of “God’s Teachers”; Trust, Honesty, Tolerance, Gentleness, Joy, Defenselessness, Generosity, Patience, Faithfulness and Open-mindedness. Of course I would also add a sense of humor, loving-kindness and inner peace.
At that moment, I realized that these are the things I want to share with someone in a relationship in order to share Love and to learn more about Infinite Love. These are the new relationships sprouting amongst maturing souls now and it is so wonderful to see.
Another question came to me after talking with another friend recently; “Would I want the person to be a lot like me?” In the past, I would have said not really, but over the past year especially I’ve realized I actually would want to be with someone very similar to my Real Self, my spirit. I actually said to my friend, “yes, I’d like to date my own spirit.” :) (It’s ok. You can laugh.)
I’m sure there are lots of great books about relationships and there are a few now beginning to talk more about relationships from the perspective of the mature soul. Here are some I have found very helpful in learning about Love and my relationship with myself and others:

Living your TRUTH
More and more this year, many of us are relearning the most precious lesson ever!
It is a message we have read, and heard and tried to live for so long that it seems almost surreal now that the message is Being Lived by so many people. It is the message and lesson of trusting, following and Living our own Truth, whatever that is for each of us. Every one of us has a unique, beautiful path we are here to express and experience as Spirit Itself. Every single path is exquisitely unique. If you could create and experience in infinite ways, why would you do it any other way?! God IS Infinite, and thus so are you.
The past couple of months me and several friends, as well as others, have been given opportunities and support to truly speak and live what we feel is True for each of us. In many lives, mine included, there is the learned conditioning to do and think and believe what everyone else does and thinks and believes so as to "fit in" and "not rock the boat." The pressure in some societies is so great to do so that we literally make ourselves ill by cutting ourselves off from our inner voice, our intuition, or as Spirit called it the other day, our "IT", or Inner Teacher. Also known as our I.T. or Inner Technology, our spirit, when we are "offline" from our I.T. (spirit), we are disconnected from IT, our Inner Teacher, and the One Infinite Teacher (Get IT?) :)
This year for me has been so much about the opposite message and the unlearning of this suppression of my own spirit and Inner Knowing. There is so much Joy in this.
One supportive piece of information I learned around this lesson this year is that when I am not valuing or being honest with myself about what I know to be my true path or action, etc., and thus do not act in alignment with my spirit's true intentions out of fear of disapproval or feeling not accepted by others' standards, I can actually get in the way of the bigger plan for me and others, the "Master Script" which God directs. So now I feel so much better truly walking my own path even if others don't have the same truth, because I don't want to short-change my life and certainly do not want to short-change the paths and lives of others.
I know it is about trusting, something many of us learned very little of growing up. This year is truly about Trusting and honoring your Inner Teacher, your amazingly beautiful spirit that God created.

Living with an Open Clear Heart
Today I received by far what could be seen as the oddest message from Spirit, but energetically it feels right on target, so please bare with me as I try to formulate into words that which does not even feel like can be explained.
(Note: Reading the following may shift your perceptions.)
Over the next few weeks, there will be a very different kind of shift for earth and all of its inhabitants. Whereas in the past several years especially, we've experienced many, many energetic and magnetic shifts in our physical environment, this new style is much more of a perceptual shift, in a way. Whereas in the past, when the earth's magnetic fields shifted, we felt sort of turned "upside down" polarity-wise, and physically could feel dizzy or light-headed at times, this new SHIFT will feel more as if we are being turned "inside out", not in a physical-based way, but rather in our perspectives when it comes to who and what we are as human beings and spiritual beings, which of course can affect how we experience our physical world as well.
One of the analogies Spirit showed me is that if we have believed that we are human beings breathing in and out (our spirit's life force), after this shift, we will be much more in the perspective (and almost effortlessly so) of being breathed in and out by our spirit (by Spirit Itself). Another way of looking at this is that for those of us who have worked so hard to keep reminding ourselves that we are all One, after this re-perspectiving we will more easily KNOW and feel and Live this reality. It is a sort of "laying the cards on the table", as if enough of the veils (fears/shadows of ego) have been cleared away by Light and Love that we will be able to see more with our "True Eyes", the vision of our spirits (and Spirit Itself) through an Open, Clear One Heart. As this is new for me as well, I can only guess that it might be what it feels like when a critical mass is reached and a whole new experience "appears" or falls into place.

Message from Earth and Love
I received this last night in the middle of my quiet. :)
A message from Earth and Love:
“You are not here to “master” the earth. You are here to learn from it. It has been around for far longer than you and has experienced more than you can even begin to imagine. It is far wiser than the human beings that love it or try to condemn it.
You think you understand love but you do not.
You think you “know” the way Home, but without Love, there is no way to get there and no home to be found for It is One and the same.
How can you see the earth’s love for you when all of your energy goes into dismantling it to serve your lost mind’s needs and wants?
Most directions will take you somewhere, but unless your spirit is guiding the way, you will end up where you began and the circle will go unchanged. Home sits in the middle of Love and Love alone. Nowhere else is there to go but to Love. And this alone is All that you seek.”

Love on the run
Today begins a two-week period of deep healing, clearing and purification, for earth and all those living on her. Today was a "start with a bang" scenario, but in an amazingly gentle, soft and deeply nourishing way. If you felt like curling up into your bed or couch, napping in a loved ones arms or just resting with your pet all day, that is this deep healing I am talking about. My mind says "oh, I should really go to the store" or "I need to go do this and that" while your inner knowing has already taken full control of the physical vehicle (the body) and slowed down all processes in preparation for the deep cleanse. Think of a diamond and how it is formed. Lots of heat and pressure deep in the center of the earth work together to purify and mold the strongest, clearest and most beautiful thing on the planet. This is you and me and everyone. This is the next two weeks.
I have gone through these periods of deep soul cleansing in the past many times, so luckily I recognize the gift better when it announces its presence. This is a great time for allowing everything in your life to settle so as to allow more clarity in the vision that is your life.
Taking the gift (and opportunity) to center, focus and open while it is being offered energetically is a wise way to spend these two weeks. A great way to take advantage of it is to even ask each morning, what is my focus today and what is my path in this moment? I'm always suprised how deeply nourishing just stopping can be. We have learned to be so busy just for the sake of being busy, with no real focus at times. Allow clarity to emerge from this precious gift now.

Relaxing into the changes
Believe it or not, the changes in the earth simply mirror the changes (shifts) in the collective consciousness, and vice versa. When I say "collective consciousness" I mean the Whole Collective, humans, animals, plants, everything. You see, as human beings, we are part of the earth as well, just as every living, breathing thing on the earth is. This even includes rocks, the oceans and rivers, the air we breathe and the entire cosmos. The main reason "stress" has even become a household commodity is that it is simply showing us how much we are out of touch with the collective and our true nature. Many ancient (and luckily some still present today) civilizations and cultures knew and lived by this connection to and knowing of being part of the earth and universe itself.
So, my hint today for relaxing into our home's shifts (earth's changes) is to reconnect to it, thus reconnecting to our own inner nature and the rhythms of the cosmos. When we listen to and stay connected to the earth and all of life on it, we sense the inner lessons being given us by Spirit so as to live in greater harmony with ourselves and thus all others and the planet itself. This is the real reason for changes and shifts in our world and us. We are always growing, learning to express more peace, joy and love, and forever shifting our perspectives so we can perceive differently each day. If you have ever sat and watched a beautiful sunset, then you know that it does not show up in one color, stay that way for the whole setting and just end. The light and colors shift every second like a constantly evolving masterpiece. We are all part of this most amazingly beautiful masterpiece called Life! Enjoy!

Tools for Inner Balance
There is a lovely, clear opening this week, as if Life is gently washing away all barriers between our own hearts and Love Itself. When you feel this clearing this week, just stop for a moment, allowing It to be here for you and those you love as well. Inner balance happens naturally when we stop focusing on polarity thinking of any kind. This can actually benefit our physical balance during the energy shifts since mind and body are not only connected but are in fact One.
